SKETCHES& POTTERY
I have a deep appreciation forartistic pursuits that arecompletely unrelated tobusiness, something one needsto return to as part of life.I firmly believe that when acompany encourages someoneto pursue what they lovealongside their job, that energynaturally flows back into thework.
Drawing has been part of my life since I was a young child. It’s a core piece of who I am and, I believe, what led me topursue a creative career in the first place. It’s always there, reminding me that no matter how busy work gets, there’ssomething important to return to
Pottery was something I never expected to explore, but it became an incredibly fulfilling experience.Spending hours shaping my ideas, I even have asmall pottery setup at home, and it’s my favoriteplace to create.
Original Content is what I loveto create, I immerse myself indifferent experiences, evenbeyond my field. For me, it’s not just a portfolio;IT’S MY STORY.ORIGINALCONTENT
BigBaby is a character I imaginedwhen I was just 10 at 1995.Now, it’s my creative space, a hubwhere I gather all my ideas orcollaborate with others who sharetheirs. It’s a place for unexpectedexperiences. One day, I hope totell its full story.https://www.instagram.com/bigbaby.space?vrfl=ajk5eHNiMXhhbHBw
My dad, Dr. Hazem Saad AbdelSalam, is a Pediatrician known forhis fun and effectivecommunication with patients, kids, and people in general.I decided to create "Doctor Zoom,"an original content where heshares tips for parents on how totake care of their kids physicallyand mentally in a fun way.
Working with my dad was a blast, and now he has millions of viewson TikTok. I was involved ineverything, from creative directingand art direction to styling, scriptwriting, moderation, mediabuying, and production.https://www.instagram.com/doctor.zoom_?exln=YWJoNnVoZXBiMWtp
I drew this illustration. We are preparing it as the art direction for Season 2.It will be used in Dr. Zoom’s branding and look and feel..
Every year, I have a tradition ofcreating a song dedicated to mymother for Mother's Day.In this particular production, Iimagined motherhood as aplanet where we are all born andeventually leave when we growup. The video portrays the journeya son trying to return to its planet, symbolizing a child's journey backto their mother.I was involved in almost everyaspect of this personalproduction project, including theidea, lyrics, direction, styling, directing, casting, andproduction.
This was a completely different experiencefor me, producing a play that combinedphysical performance and drama. I tookthe lead on creatively marketing the show, making sure people felt the heart of whatwe were offering. It wasn’t just aboutpromotion; it was about conveying theemotion of the performance so theaudience could connect before they evenentered the theater.through this experience, we entered somany festivals and won many awards up tothis very moment.https://www.instagram.com/nour.backstage?igsh=Y3BkYTNyd2pvcnR3
This song holds deep personal meaning. Inamed it after my mother, whose name isHanan.A truly talented person who helped me withthe lyrics is Shika, I loved workingalongside her, and together we wrote thesong. I’m also the one who illustrated theframes in it.
This is one of my favorite parts, shaping the brand identityand creating it for the people Iwork with or even somethingpersonal to me.For me, it’s definitely not justabout the logo or colors; it’sabout how the brand speaks, expresses itself, and its spirit.
Kijamii is a digital agency with aspirit of unity and connection, Icreated tribal mask designs, witheach mask representing adepartment within the agency.https://www.adsoftheworld.com/campaigns/tribal-masks-spirit
We had a fun photoshoot withKijamii employees, capturing thetribal vibes and spirit of unity.
This has been one of the most important milestones in my life, not just creatively, but also in sports. Together withCaptain Tarek, I co-founded a running group. I came up with its identity, how it speaks and expresses the spirit ofrunning and I named it Run Q̈ airo. Honestly, it’s one of the most beautiful experiences. Our community keepsgrowing every day, it’s something I never expected. Now we have a special community that loves each other, andwe run the streets of Cairo, proudly as Run Q̈ airo!https://www.instagram.com/runqairo?rpxt=MXhwYnhiYzlhdTNoMQ==
When I was thinking about the branding for Run Q̈ airo, I had the idea tocreate multiple variations, almost like different worlds. A lot of them aretied to Cairo, or Egypt in general, or to running, while others are just forfun. These are things people can engage with, and we can use them tocommunicate with our community.
PMD is a performance agency, and they were thinking about how tocreate a more distinctive identity something with more soulSo part of the branding, I’ve thought about these characters in a way thatreflects their strengths. Since our world relates to performance andmedia buying, I imagined these characters as merchants, skilled tradersin selling, communicating, and using every tool to engage peopleeffectively. At the same time, they’re fun, cute, and engaging characters.I combined the word “Merchants” with “Marshmallow” and named them “The Merchmellos.” These characters can be used in countless ways, inmultiple scenarios and styles, but they all share one core trait: they arecubes inspired by the dot in the PMD logo.
The main character, which I thought of naming “Toggie,” represents the core merchant, alsoinspired by the Arabic word for ﺮﺟﺎﺗ . Toggie is the black cube. Around him is a whole universeof countless other characters, each with unique traits almost like the Minions or Smurfs butall part of this cube world.
I suggested that we couldenvision the black cube characterbeing used as a mask forengaging shows or originalcontent. Additionally, the cubeshape of the Merchmellos can beincorporated into various officeelements, whether on mugs, coasters, wall frames etc..
I’ve created a universe ofunique characters withinTakka. These characters can beintegrated to engage peopleand deliver messages in afun, relatable way. Theyexpand the world of Takka, helping us connect with ouraudience on a deeper level.
OLDSCHOOL
OLDSCHOOLBeing born in the ’80s is a privilegeI took design from its roots. I began with penand paper as an illustrator, then movedthrough Applied Arts in advertising, evolvingwith every tool from software to AI. Thisjourney taught me the core of design, givingme an eye for visuals and the principles toadapt.
Being fascinated by Egyptian folkloremotifs, I came up with the idea ofblending these motifs with Philipselectronics. I wrote those originalsayings inspired by popular Egyptianquotes.
I was responsible in the creative partwhen Netflix started launching in theMiddle East in all platforms, whichwas one of the most excitingaccounts I worked on.

This project revolves around thatscary moment when you ask yourmother " where is my stuff ", andshe replies with "If I come and getit." I created a song highlightinghow IKEA can help you stayorganized without getting introuble.
With almost a zero budget, I managedto come up with a digital copy plus aphoto shoot, showcasing my ability tofind solutions and deliver quality resultswith limited resources.
In a similar case, this time it's aTV ad aiming to find a fun ideato deliver the client's messagewithin a small budget. The adpromotes a chance to win aPlayStation 4 with Domtysandwich.
When you prove yourselfworthy of trust by deliveringamazing output like directingthe previous ad, you get theopportunity to create anotherone, just like this cool Domtysandwich ad.
Huawei Nova Plus..It was my 1st bigproduction ad, and I spent monthsworking on it with so much love andexcitement. It inspired me to domore and gain further experience.
For Valentine's Day, we introduced aDomty character with OsamahMonir vibes, engaging with peopleand answering questions in a livevideo in fun and entertaining way.
Handling a team isn’t easy, but when you teachyour team to express themselves, it makes thingsmuch easier. One of the foundational things I try to teach myteam is to always express their ideas, and fight forthe things they personally want to achieve intheir career.
I love it when my team thinksbeyond their daily work andtakes initiatives to learn newthings. Like if one of my teammembers ( Ahmed Sulatan )wanted to explorescriptwriting, try voiceover, and even try their hand atdirecting, like this one.Despite limited resources anda small budget, they alwayscome up with somethingamazing when given thechance, i couldn’t be moreproud.
The original idea came also fromAhmed Sultan, even if the conceptwas simple, my role as a leader is toelevate it and take it further thanexpected. This proves that evensimple ideas can be special and canlead us to unexpected places. Justlike this project, which was one ofthe best experiences I had, the songwas written by me.In this campaign, we asked peoplefrom different regions in Egypt howthey pronounce "mom" in their owndialect. The responses werecompiled into a short video, emphasizing that regardless of howyou pronounce it, all mothers havethe same heart.
This time, I learned from my team, not the other way around. I realized that when someone onthe team truly believes in their idea, I need to believe in it too. Just like with this project, Icouldn’t imagine how great it would turn out, but my team showed me. When I gave themspace, I saw they were right. Now, when I see someone fully believing in their idea, I make sure togive them room to prove their vision.
Supporting my team in developing not only their design skills but also otherareas they want to learn and grow in, like that piece of artby Akram Adel.
For me, it’s really important to train people not to be robots just sitting at computers, but to expressthemselves and their ideas. This project proves that when you give someone a chance, knowing they havepotential, they don’t need to wait for ideas to be handed to them, they’ll act on their own. This showed methat giving people room to voice their opinions was absolutely the right step. The result was the beauty ofthis project by Abanoub Fayez
THANK YOU
